Likewise, in the American League, the Los Angeles Angels, the Boston Red Sox, the Chicago White Sox, the Detroit Tigers, and the Seattle Mariners all have payrolls over $100 million and the New York Yankees and a payroll of over $200 million. The Toronto Blue Jays also came up just short of the $100 million marks, meaning that the American League had seven teams with these extremely high payrolls.
